The
LOCAL EMERGENCY GROUP & INTERMEDIARY ALLIANCE NETWORK (L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders) program was established to exemplify how riders as individuals, and collectively, make our great municipality a safer and more compassionate place to live.
We accomplish our mission by recruiting riders into public service in support of each other, our communities and our nation. We do this by helping provide our volunteers with the tools and training needed to provide emergency assistance in times of need.
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders offer assistance on an individual basis as Good Samaritan's, and directly support professional emergency response organizations in times of need. Quite simply,
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders invest their time in helping those in need.
About now you may be asking yourself, what can I do as a rider to help with these events? As riders, we can take advantage of our increased mobility via two wheels to deliver medical professionals, supplies and aid into areas that may have limited access due to wide spread destruction from disasters.
As
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders we are also accustomed to the dangers we as riders face while riding. For this reason we have started a "Ride for a Reason" program which allows our riders to serve as volunteers at area events and poker runs. Our volunteers participate at area events just as you normally would but now you have the training & tools to provide aid when encountering an accident which has become all to common these days.
The
LOCAL EMERGENCY GROUP & INTERMEDIARY ALLIANCE NETWORK (L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders) is the official voice of IMUS road riding motorcycle, scooter and even four wheels community. With more than 120 motorcycles, scooters and four wheels now registered in IMUS, it is imperative that these people are being properly considered as a legitimate part of the transport mix.
The
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders' primary role is to convey the road safety concerns and suggestions of the road riding community to relevant government bodies and work with them to achieve the goal of improving motorcycle, scooter and even four wheels safety. It also provides information from its work back to the riding community in order to facilitate the achievement of its objectives. The
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders has been representing IMUS motorcycle, scooter and even four wheels riders at the highest levels since 2009.
The
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders' objectives are to:

• Facilitate the development of more effective road safety policies
• Enhance the fulfillment of riding as a recreational activity
• Promote riding to the wider community
• Improve the public's image of riders
• Promote the consideration and respect of riders concerns in urban planning and road design.
The
L.E.G.I.A.N. Riders aims to actively promote road safety issues, including providing commentary on media articles relating to motorcycle, scooter and even four wheels and road safety.
